Mie showed the depth of their team. Mori (#12 RHP) who took the mound the last two innings came in ready to pitch when he took the mound in the highly pressured inning 10 and 11. Mori was aggressive but controlled his fastball and breaking ball effectively against the strong Koryo lineup although the defense made a few errors in the extra innings.
Yoshikawa (#1 RHP) of Koryo completed the entire game and threw 169 pitches. His last pitch, unfortunately, became a ball in inning 11 to walk in the winning run.
Mie came back from 2 -4 behind in the bottom of 9 to tie the game by the single hit made in the full base situation. Although Koryo lost the game, they showed a high quality of fundamentals in inning 11, as the position players confirmed their positioning and where to throw whenever the situation changed. It was a very good first round game.
